NASA Announcement:
MVSCC (Miami Valley Sports Car Club) was established in 2005 as an independent club of people who love the sport of Autocross; we aim to be technologically innovative while making each event as enjoyable as possible for each participant. At the club’s inception we considered ourselves a National Auto Sports Association (NASA) club using NASA classing structure, and trying to represent NASA to the best of our ability while remaining as an independent club. MVSCC has had a very successful 8 years and has grown to have a reputation for having fun and fast times.
As MVSCC enters our 9th season we are excited to announce National Auto Sports Association (NASA) has named us as the NASA Great Lakes Region Autocross Club.
The National Auto Sport Association (NASA) was formed in 1991 to deliver high quality motorsports events to enthusiasts at major racing venues throughout the nation. NASA has created programs that allow owners of both racecars and high-performance street-driven vehicles to enjoy the full performance capabilities of their cars in a safe and controlled environment. NASA offers many different programs that will allow you to enjoy motorsports on a number of different levels, including our High Performance Driving Events (HPDE), Rally Sport, Time Trial, NASA-X and Competition Racing programs.
NASA members are entitled to enter and participate in any NASA event across the country and membership includes an array of benefits including vendor discounts and a complimentary subscription to Speed News digital magazine which includes a section devoted to NASA’s newsletter, Speednews. Members will also receive a colorful hard card membership card that will identify them as part of the organization and a welcome packet that includes more information on the many benefits and programs available to NASA members. While participating at events, all NASA members are covered by an extensive insurance policy, which includes General Liability, Accidental Death and Dismemberment, and Excess Medical coverage. Best of all, membership is only $40.
So what does this mean for you the driver and our events? There will be NO changes to how we run our events, there will only improvements. MVSCC will still remain in full control of the club; we will have the same rules, same classing structures, and same great competition. What does change? We will have a paved path for members would like to go to the next level with NASA if they so desire. Like; HPDE Events at Mid-Ohio, Putnam Park or other venues. We will plan regional events in the future for those who wish to participate, and other autocross possibilities for the club members.
Fees: There is no requirement to belong to NASA just as there is no requirement to belong to MVSCC to run at our events. By joining MVSCC you show your support for the club, and save on your entry fees which more than cover the cost of the MVSCC membership. Joining NASA gives you more insurance coverage and it will allow you to participate in other fantastic NASA events.
As MVSCC developments to immerse into NASA we will be rolling out some really neat things over this season. Please stay tuned.
Thank you,
Miami Valley Sports Car Club
